Hoka One One Clifton 2 is an upgraded version of it’s predecessor Hoka One One Clifton. Hoka One One was a legendary running shoe with excellent features. Despite amazing features and benefits, it had it’s own lackings. Hoka One One Clifton 2 came to solve those issues and kept the beneficial ones. I am going to share my review on Hoka One One Clifton 2 for you to understand whether this is the shoe for you or not.

I didn’t want to through a marketing speech, and that’s why I decided to test the product thoroughly by running one straight month. So the findings below are the results of one month running on Hoka One One Clifton. I hope you enjoy Hoka one one Clifton 2 review.

Specs

Hoka Clifton is a lightweight shoe which weighs only 7.70 oz in US Men’s size 9. For the same size, the offset is 5mm, the forefoot is 24 mm and heel is 29mm. The shoe is available in several colors to choose the perfect on for you. Note that it’s a road type shoe. You can use this shoe for daily training purpose and run medium length distances too.

Design

Hoka One One Clifton 2 has subtle changes from the Original Hoka One One Clifton. The design is pretty simple and classical looking. Though the upper is reinforced with thicker material, the appearance doesn’t seem to look different. You can also grab the shoe in various colors.

Hoka One One Clifton 2 Upper

One of the coolest features of this shoe is its seamless upper constructed with the speed frame technology. Breathability is a crucial issue which might cause runners to flip shoes, and they handled it correctly. The no-sew upper consists of air mesh to offer high breathability to the users.

The material used to make the upper has high durability. If you still remember the Original Clifton, you will recall that it had issues with durability. Hoka Clifton 2 manages to drive away durability issues with such quality materials.

Another complaint of Hoka Clifton was its sloppy fit. The revised Hoka Clifton 2 came with an excellent snug fit. However, this might be a problem if you don’t like a snug fit. Some even complain that the narrow fit is super annoying. I also faced the same, but after running several times, it became very comfortable for me.

Like the original Hoka One One, this new Clifton 2 manages to offer excellent smooth and soft ride to the runners.

Sole Info

Hoka used full-length CMECA foam midsole with meta-rocker midsole geometry in Hoka Clifton 2. This technology allows quick transitions for a fast feel.

The outsole of the Hoka Clifton 2 comes with a mix of exposed compression-molded EVA or CMEVA with hi abrasion lightweight rubber. The strategically placed rubber pads are there to improve the durability of the Clifton 2. However, after running for several days, I noticed that it started to shred on some points.

However, it didn’t cause any troubles for the rest of the testing phase. It just looked dull, and it was easily visible on some points after heavy usage. It had no effect on the performance of the shoes. So if you are not concerned about the look, it should not bother you.

Cushioning

Hoka One One Clifton 2 comes with incredible cushioning. If you are like me who loves cushioning, you will really love this shoe. With the same plush as Original Clifton, the bouncy cushion underfoot became my favorite. The maximum cushioning is designed in such a way that it provides excellent shock absorption with a stable ride for long runs. Eventually, this will help you to reduce the fatigue in your feet, legs, and core. As I have mentioned in the earlier part of this post, some users don’t like the snug fit. So it’s a big no if you are among them.

Fit

Due to the high cushioning, it fits great on my foot. Though it required several quick runs to get things adjusted, it worked out perfectly for me.

Price:

Hoka One One Clifton 2 comes at a very decent price range. No matter what size you choose, the price will be very reasonable for you.

Final Verdict

I tried my best to keep the Hoka one one Clifton 2 review sweet and short. My personal experience was great with the Clifton 2. I loved the low weight and incredible cushioning. Hoka has been developing amazing products for the last couple of years, and this one is improved from their super hit original Hoka Clifton. In a nutshell, Hoka One One Clifton 2 is a great road running shoe which comes with high cushioning, lightweight design, and high comfortability.
